Miner's Jubliee

One the way back from the coast Mom and Dad Jones needed some help with the Miner's Jubilee in Baker City Friday, Saturday and Sunday. So we stopped there to help them out. On Friday night they had Bronc riding and on Saturday night they had bull riding. Mom and Dad let Tori and I go both nights. I've added the pictures for you to enjoy. The bulls won!!!! There weren't very many riders that were able to stay on the full 8 seconds.

Our last day on the Coast

Wednesday Day 4 was left open to do whatever. We decided to be tourists and hit all the gift stores on main street. Who would have quessed that Wednesday is the day they decide to be closed. There were a few that were open, so we did get to do a little bet of browsing. On Monday, Tori had found a purse at the Coach outlet store that was 40% off the markdown price, so she had be trying to decide to get it or not. She wanted to go back and look at it, so we back to the Outlet mall, hit a few stores that we didn't go to the first time. She did finally talk herself into spending her hard earned money for this purse. See how excited she is? I told her when she's tired of it I get to use it. For some reason the girls were really tired, so after we got back from shopping they both fell asleep. I noticed that the Kite surfers were down on the water, so I took my camera down to the beach and took a 'bazillian' pictures. By the time I left the beach there were 6 of them. Th

Oregon Coast Day 3

Here is day 3 of our trip. On Tuesday we woke up to fog. It was the day that we had decided to drive to Newport for the day. We wanted to get to the tide pool at the lighthouse at low tide, but I had the time wrong and we missed low tide. That didn't stop us from scouring the beach. There was several large rocks just out in the ocean not far from the beach. Several of these were covered in birds, the looked alot like penquins, but I think they were Mures. One of the large rock were covered with seals. Yaquina Head Lighthouse is still being lite. They have tours set up and you climb 60 ft into the top of the light house on very narrow spiral stairs. It was really cool to climb up and see the light. There was a tour guide at the top that talked about building the light house, how it evolved through 3 types of kerosene to electricity. This is picture looking up from the beach below the cliffs. Here we are in the center of the light house waiting our turn to go up. Looking up through t

Oregon Coast Vacation Day 1 & 2

Last week was vacation week for the girls. The boys opted not to come, their loss. Tori invited her friend Kelcy to join us, so it was just us three girls. We left on Sunday July 13th and went as far as Cascade Locks. It is really just a turn out in road along the Columbia river. We wanted to ride the Sternwheeler but we missed the tour ride and the dinner cuise was a little out of our price range -$68.00 a person. The girls made a new friend. He was trapped in this little pond of water . We tried to find a fisherman with a net that could set him free but we couldn't find one. They named him "Phillip" with an "F" - Fillip. The next morning we headed down the road to Multnomah Falls. I have alway driven by these falls, but have never taken the time to stop. They were really beautiful. We didn't realize we were both wearing pink until we too this picture. After hiking to the bridge and enjoying the gift shop we got back in the car and headed for Lincoln City

Action Packed day

Today was action packed for us. To start with Salena hosted Sharlene's baby shower. Here are some highlights. Here is the guest of honor. The theme was the King of the Jungle. What's a shower without a few games. Next is present opening time. She got some really cute clothes. Several blankets and plenty of oneses. No shower is complete without plenty of food and this was no exception. Salena had quite the spread. Being the creative person that she is, we had the cute lion cupcakes. The second event for the day was celebrating Alex's 15th birthday. His birthday is actually on Tuesday 7/15, but Tori and I will be gone, so he wanted to celebrate before we left. He opened his presents and then we went to dinner. Granny and Pappa joined us at Applebees. Later we continued to celebrate with an Ice Cream Cake from Cold Stone. I know.... it is really hard to believe that I got him to pose for a picture. It took some trickery to get the smile, but I did........ The Third event for

No Fireworks????

Just want to let Skyler and Steve know that they are on Tori's list...... She was very disappointed that you guys were gone and we didn't get to do the 'family thing'. She even invited a couple of friends to join us. However, we tried to make the best of it, we decided to visit Zoo Boise. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't very busy. I haven't been to the zoo since the kids were little. It has really changed. Tori took a bunch of pictures. Her favorites are the penquins and zebra. My favorite was this cute meerkat. While we were off at the Zoo, Alex and his friend Jameson was out buying a few fireworks. I made them pose. It was NOT an easy thing to do. Boys can be scary with matches. When it got dark, Tori and I went up to Federal Way to watch the fireworks from Ann Morrison park. We left the two boys at home to 'play' with their own fireworks. It turned out to be not too bad of a day, but we sure missed being with the family. Next week Tori and I
