We are one week away for our Christmas present. As my kids get older, it’s harder and harder to buy for Christmas.  I was so frustrated last year, I felt like I was just buying things for the sake of buying things. Not good!!  So I made a proposal to the family.  “let’s not buy Christmas presents next year and save our money to take a trip to Hawaii”  They all thought that was a great idea.  So I saved all year.  With Tori’s retail job and school we determined that the best time to go was January. We leave the 6th and will return on the red-eye Saturday the 12th.  Needless to say we are very excited to be going. I have to be honest and say that it has been really nice this year not to have to stress about buying Christmas presents.  I have given both kids $200.00 for them to spend in Hawaii on anything they want. We are going to the Big Island, we have rented a condo just outside of Kona, the breach is just across the street., Based on the information we can see the ocean from

I sure am getting excited for football to start.  So much so that I tried my hand at a BSU subway art. 

I found this frame wreath on Pinterest and thought it was sooo cute, so I thought I would make my own. Had to make a few adjustments.  I don’t have a solid wood door, we just have a glass screen porch door, so I didn’t want to leave the frame without a backdrop, I was afraid that the fence and words would get lost. so I put in brown paper to help them “pop”.   I like the silver textured spray paint I used on the frame and fence, it really helps the pinwheels stand out.  As you probably noticed I didn’t us the word “welcome”.  When I was at the craft store I could not find letters or a whole word that I liked.  I did find the word “Laugh”.  This just makes me smile when I read it.  I hope that it makes others smile too. Well it’s time to get the crafts going and to get the 4th of July display up.  So Tori and I got together and got craftin’.   Here is the finished product.  They turned out very cute, if I do say so myself. With help from Pinterest for fabulous idea, I put together this amazing display.   LOVE IT!!! Love you all ~ Mitzi

Was looking at The Idea Room blog the other day and she was talking about Instagram.  Well, I have Instagram on my phone but I haven’t played with it very much.  She was talking about the photo a day challenge from Instagram.  Here is the list for June. The idea is to capture your everyday life.  So I decided to give it a go.  How ever I did miss Day 1. Day 2 – Empty I’ll post my pictures go keep checking back to see what I find to fill my list. Learned some new things to do with my subway art.   Made this cute poster of where we lived.

Decide to take the time to play with my Silhouette machine.  Don’t get me wrong, I’ve done some vinyl displays around my house, but I haven’t really played with just different objects and with the cutter.  Here is my 3d butterfly that I created,  I love how it turned out.  Perfect for a summer display. Boise’s own version…. Did you know that Boise has a Friday night flag football league??? I sure didn’t.  It’s out at the Fairgrounds.  My brother Darrin’s two boy, Nathan and Carson are playing in it.  Both of them will be playing in the championship games tomorrow for their age brackets.  Way to go!!!! Saw a really cute pink ruffle wreath on Pinterest, so I decide to make my own for spring.  If you want to see the pink one it’s in my ‘craft’ board on Pinterest. It was really easy and didn’t take very much time at all.  I think it turned out cute. I’m thinking that it will make a really cute 4th of July wreath made with alternated red, white and blue fabric. That;s what I’ve been, blog-absent.  Sorry haven’t had much to blog about lately.  Most of you have heard that Supervalu (where I work) just announced that they are laying off 800 employees at their corporate offices.  The bullets came very close this time and it took some fancy dodging but I was able to dodge all of them, so for now I still have a job,  It’s very sad to see some of the really amazing people that are being let go.  Supervalu will not be the same. Oh well, enough of the bad news.  I thought I would share my new wreath for the Easter/spring season.
