Portland Trip

Image
I had a lot of fun with the girls in Portland. It was a great opportunity to get to know the girls. They got to play 5 games total which was more than were guaranteed. We lost the first game to a Newport Oregon team, they were very physical and we had officials that thought we were the only team committing fouls. We then went on to win the next three games and got to play for the consolation game. Which we ended up losing by 6. It was a really good game and the coach was pleased with how they battled back. Tori's ankle turned out to be frustrating for her. She would play a game than end up sitting out the next due to it swelling up. She's working on getting better so that she gets to play in San Diego at the end of the month. Here are couple of shot I took of her in the last game. After the games we drove over to Seaside to spend an evening on the beach. We played in the Ocean for a hour, walked around the town. The team all went on the bumper cars. After a little shopping

Portland trip day 1

We we made it to Portland safe and sound. It was an uneventful drive (thank God). We didn't have to play so we got to play. This is very very different than soccer trips. Much more relaxed. We stopped in Pendleton for lunch and we were given are Assassin assignments. They play this game "Aassassin". Basically the object of the game is to be the final assassin. You draw a name and your mission (if you choose to accept it) is to kill your target without any one witnessing it. There are rules about safe zone, such as the restroom or shower, restaurants, any building that has a gym. We have dollar store toy dart guns. If you are killed then you give your assassin your target. I drew Brydges. Now... the problem with Brydges is she is NEVER without Ramirez. Unfortunately she had me and was able to kill me before I got her. She had more experience at this game than I did. I want to play again, since I'm much smarter. At the time I'm writing this, Tori is still alive. I&#

OUCH!!!!!

Look at what Tori brought home from her tournament in Pocatello. Apparently she was playing amazing the first two games. Then 5 minutes into the third game this happened. She was pissed......... Didn't get to play the rest of the weekend. These pictures are taken on Tuesday, so it's actually looking pretty good in these pictures. On the bright side they won all of their games. With any luck the coach will let her play tonight. She's off to Portland for another tournment tomorrow. They play on Friday & Saturday for sure and Sunday will depend on how they do. I'm going as a driver. Should be fun, anyways I hope so. Sunday we are taking the girls to Seaside for a little Varsity retreat.

T's Basketball

They WON their division in the Basketball tournament last weekend. It was pretty fast paced tourney. They play a game, rested a game and play another game. The team played well together and Tori had some good games. It's been a great experience for her to play at this level. This week has been tough with bball camp in the morning and games at night. They played Monday night and lost, won in sudden death overtime on Tuesday, had an easy win on Wednesday and won again tonight. They really looked more like a team tonight. After the game the do this 'atta girl' thing. They each have an 'atta girl' to give to one of their team mates for the game. They have to say who and why they get their 'atta girl'. She got two 'atta girls' on Tuesday and three tonight. She was pretty excited about who gave her their 'atta girls' tonight. Her and Dana are off to Pocatello tomorrow for another tournament. I'm going to miss it, but I do get to

School's out for Summer

Whew, we got through another year of school, all we have to do now is wait for grades to come out. I'm excited because I will be able to have hot showers in the mornings and I don't have to make lunches. Yeah!!!!!!!!!! Tori is officially a Senior. Where has the time gone(sniff, sniff)???? I know that she is looking forward to all the fun activities this next year. She got nominated and elected to be a Senior Mentor which is a great honor. They are nominated by the faculty. She will continue to be a peer mediator. She was elected to do this in 7th grade and has been asked to continue every year. She hasn't had to mediate very many times but they get some really good training every year. As I said the other day, she is playing on the Varsity BB team for the summer. She had her first two games this week against Capital and Centennial. They beat Capital, but lost by 3 to Centennial. She was veeeerrrryyyy nervous but I think she got over that very quickly. She had a really good

Congratulations, Tori!!!

Just wanted to let everyone know that Tori made the Boise High Varsity Basketball team for the summer league. This is a big accomplishment for her and she has worked hard the last couple of months to get ready for Thursday's tryouts. To say that she was excited when she received the phone call Thursday night is an understatement. She was flying high for several hours. They have their first practice on Monday and the first league game is on Wednesday6/4. They have a tournament every weekend in June, Nampa 6/6-7, Pocatello 6/13-14, Portland 6/19-22 and they are doing a retreat on the Oregon coast. There is also a big tournament the end of July in San Diego. Their camp runs for two weeks in June as well. They will do the BB camp in the day and then have league games at night. She is going to be one very busy girl for the first part of the summer, but it will keep her out of trouble. This doesn't necessarily ensure that she will make the varsity team in October, but if
