College bound ? ?

Image
Congrats to Tori for being accepted at the University of Oregon.... Walla Walla called last night and is trying to talk her into going to their school and playing soccer. Now she has been accepted to UofO, UofI, ISU, BSU & WWCC. Now for the hard part, she has to make a decision. Boy, is she stressing......... Unfortunately unless she gets some scholarships and grants she won't be going to UofO. It's about $30K a year for non-resident at that school. The others are all good possibilities. We going to have to do some applyin' tonight. I hope it's not too late. I know it is for some but hopefully not all. I took this picture while she was working on her online Econ class. She got it completed by the deadline. She just needs to take the final. She didn't want me to take the picture because she looked awful.

Basketball is over.......

We are very glad that basketball is officially over. We ended up beating Vallivue on Saturday to take Third in State. Way to go, Braves....... I'm so proud of my daughter for her accomplishments this year. She has now take Third in State for both soccer and basketball. Boise was also the Academics champions for basketball for the State. They won this in both soccer and basketball. So they weren't just good players they were smart too..... It is bitter sweet having completed both sports, in some ways I will miss going and watching her play. Oh well, I'll just have to settle for playing indoor with her. I am hoping that Justine might be successful in convincing her to go to Walla Walla community college next year and playing soccer with them. I think she would had a good time but it's not my decision.

State Tourney update

I just wanted to give a quick update on the Bball tourney. We won our first game yesterday against Highland. Had to play Centennial tonight. Centennial is the only team we have lost to the year. And that hasn't changed, we lost again in overtime. It was a really good game. So now we play Vallivue for third and fourth place tomorrow at Kuna HS at 11:00. Then we will be all done with basketball. Well it's really late and I'm tired, so I'm going to bed, but I wanted to updated anyone that might have been curious. I'll post the outcome tomorrow. Good night all!!!

Here is the link to the State tournament schedule. http://www.idhsaa.org/sports/basketball/brackets/0809/5A%20GBB%20brckt.pdf GO Braves ! Win State !

We're goin' to State

Well they pulled it off and we are going to State as 3rd seed from our district. We will be playing Highland on Thursday at 3:00pm at the Idaho Center. We are down to the last week from basketball. Part of me is looking forward to it, but I will missing getting to watch my daughter play both bball and soccer. Oh well, I guess I will just have to be happy with playing with her at our family soccer games.

What a week ! ! !

We had a very eventful week. I'll give you a quick day by day playback. Monday was a typical day and it was the only one we had all week. Tuesday, Tori called me at work because she had really sharp pain in her abdoman. So I can home to check on her and found her double up. I thought she might just have a stomach issue, so I worked from home to monitor her. It did get feeling a little better early afternoon but by about 5:00pm she was double up again. We decided to go to the Doctor. They tested her for all sort of things and came to the determination that she had a ovarian cyst that ruptured. They scheduled a ultra sound for Wednesday. On Wednesday she was feeling better but the ultra sound confirmed the doctors diagnosis. District tournament started on Thursday, we played Borah and won. Tori did go to school Thursday and went through warm up at the game but she didn't feel up to play (not that Kim would have played her after missing two practices). Friday her pains

Bob & Weave, Bob & Weave.....

Well....I did the infamous bob & weave and sucessfully dodge the 'workforce reductions' bullet at Supervalu last week. They did layoffs again last Thursday, they were across the whole company but my area of IT lost 20 people. No one was safe, we lost VP's, Directors, Manager sand 'worker bees'. The scarest part about making it thorough yet another set of layoffs is that fact the numbers are getting smaller and smaller so the probablility of getting hit the next time is bigger. I just hope that the end is in sight. Soooo everyone shop at Albertsons...........Remember you get fuel rewards 5 cents off a gallon for every $50.00 you buy. Do I sound like a Albertsons commercial?!? No pressure, just trying to save my job. ;)

District schedule

I can't get the schedule in a format that I can post, so I'll just have post it as we go. Currently we play Thursday at 7:30 (place is still not definite but probably Mtn View). We will play the winner of the Borah vs. Meridian game that happens Tuesday. Check Wednesday and I will let you know for sure when we play. If we win Thursday, we will play on Saturday at Rocky Mountain at 7:30.
