Mint Sugar Scrub

Image
I needed Christmas gift ideas for my co-workers and I didn’t want to do any food gifts (too many on special diets) J   So, was surfing Pinterest to get inspired and came across this very cute sugar scrub. L-O-V-E sugar scrub and I’m currently very attracted to mint green.   Sent the pin to Tori to see if she wanted to make these with me for her co-workers too.   Funny, she had pinned the same thing…..great minds!!!!   (Click  here to go to original site for instructions) We planned an evening to make these, picked up what was needed.   All ready to dive in. Directions called for 1 TBS of peppermint extract, wow that seemed like a lot.   It ended up we didn’t have enough extract, so we put everything on hold, jumped in the car to run to the nearest store.   NO peppermint extract, ran to the next nearest store, NO, not again…….NO peppermint extract.   December is probably the only month of the year that the grocery stores run out of peppermint extract.   Off to a third s

New Printable

Image
It's been awhile since I made a new printable, so I was inspired to make one tonight.  Things have been crazy at work, my boss is quitting our team and going to another team.  They are going to fill the position but they probably won't have anyone until the end of August.  To top it off they want them to be in Minnesota, not sure why when the whole team is here in Boise.  But who can figure out their thought process.  In the meantime, I get to do two peoples job.  So I need this ........ OH, the places you'll go....

Image
Last week my nephew Zach graduated from High School.     My, how time flies. As I sit here staring at this picture trying to think of something profound to say, the words just won't come to me.  I just keep seeing a slide show in my head of little Zach and his growing up. So instead of writing something witty (which I probably couldn't do), I'm just going to go through the archives and share some of those moments.   Trip down Memory Lane!         Celebration Time!!!!!! I wish him all that his heart desires for his future. Love you all ~~Mitzi

Nate's Baseball game

Image
Here are some pictures from Nate's baseball game. This one was blurry because of the fence, so I made it Vintage and colored the shirt.  Turn a bad picture is to a kind of cool photograph.   This one I deliberately focused on the fence with Nate faded in the back ground.  I really like how it turned out.  It's definitely a photograph and not a "Mom's brag about her son" picture.   Love you all ~~Mitzi

Photo Shoot

Did a little photo shoot for Carson's flag football games - Friday night flights.  Here are some highlights ~~~   Love you all ~~Mitzi

Surprise!!!

Image
Who doesn't love a surprise party?! Terri was turning 40 this year and Ryan planned a surprise party for her.  Salena was on decoration detail and I was assigned to setup a photo booth. Step One: Create the back drop.  Colors were grey and pink. Not to bad. Step Two: Collect props.  I hit up the dollar store, thrift store, Zurchers and my own supply of props used for auction display.  (Sorry no pictures of the props) Step Three: Take pictures of the guests.  Just have some fun.  Here are a few of the pictures: Now to show off the darling décor ~~  It was a great time.  Terri was truly surprised. (Don't forget - click on a picture to see a larger view) Love you all ~~Mitzi

Final results.......

Image
I haven't posted about my journey for awhile, so you all might be curious to know where I am with it.  I really really wanted to get to my goal by my year anniversary Jan 13, but I struggled a little bit getting that last measly pound to leave me.  But on the next week Jan 20th, I manage to get it off.  Here is the proof. Yes, those are my un-pedicured toes.   I've been waiting to get an after picture but kept putting it off, so tonight I just decided to do the "mirror selfie".  Not the best picture but it shows the difference. I didn't realize the change until I saw these pictures.  I was disillusioned about how big I was but even now I still think I'm the same fat person.  Still have work on the mental side.  Currently I'm two pounds under my goal weight, I have lost 68 lbs total.  Next steps - obviously to maintain, but I need to work on toning. Fun Fabrics

Image
Tori and I found some really fun fabrics at Hobby Lobby and made some pillow covers for her pillows.  These turn out really cute.   Apparently I didn't take a picture of the fourth one, it was a just a solid in the mint color.  They all look really nice together on her couch. Love you all ~~Mitzi

Broke!!!

Image
January was a rough month.  Came home from work Jan3rd to no water.  They are doing construction on Boise Ave, so we initially thought that they had turned the water off for that, but once the construction workers all left and we still didn't have any water we knew something was up.  Called the Water Company and while on hold found this note stuck in the door (the door we never use). Leakage on our property. hmmmmm, WHERE???? Dana and the water on call person started testing areas and determined that it was in the ground somewhere between the meter and the connection to the house.  So we spend the weekend with no water.  Monday, Dana and Rocco rented a mini backhoe, dug up the front yard.  Finally had water again.    Surprise!!! you now have to pay for the million of gallons of water that ran into the ground.  Water Bill $1289.00.  Sweet we can afford that!!!   I wrote a letter to the water company pleading my case and they generously wrote off half.  HALF are you kidding me.

Long time no updates

My laptop went to the great byte in the sky....  The CPU went out, so we tried to fix it but was unsuccessful, so I had to buy a new laptop.  I've been using my work laptop, iPhone and kindle for the month of Feb.  Finally got my new laptop and have been trying to get used to Windows 8, getting all my data off my dead machine and getting things setup.  Hopefully I'm good to go for several years......knock on wood!!! It has been a long, gray winter and I'm way past ready for spring.  So I'm wishing it along by making this cute door display.  Been doing several craft projects and decorating for St. Patty's and spring.  I'll get some pictures taken and get them posted for your viewing pleasure. Love you all ~~Mitzi

Craft time again

Image
It’s time to start working on Valentines decorations.  Saw this on Tater tots and jello blog and had to make my own variation of it. I really like how it turned out.  Just as a add on~~~ I was playing with Photoshop and made this Bronco sign..  Might have to use next fall when I setup my fall (Bronco) display. ~~Mitzi
