Tori’s new job

My amazing daughter just fell in to the best job, even before she graduated.  In December, so got a part time student job a Boise State in the athletic financial office.  Well in February they posted for a new full time position in the same office, so she applied for it, thinking there wouldn’t be any way she would get it, but to her surprise she did.  She is so excited, she will start in that position the end of March.  It’s an amazing job for someone straight out of college.

The benefits are out of this world.  The salary isn’t bad either.

  • 5 weeks of vacation to start
  • Two tickets to all the BSU games
  • Health insurance
  • Pension plan

She is going to have to work hard for two months, because they want her full time and she still will have school to finish, but she tough, she can handle it.

Next time you see her give her a congrats!!!!

Welcome to the deep end...

...this is the message I got on Monday as I jumped in. Monday was my birthday, another milestone day.  One that I have been dreading for weeks.  Not sure why this one is so hard to swallow.   For weeks I have been feeling like the crocodile from Peter Pan...Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock.  The days just tick away. Birthday's are interesting, there is a build up as the day gets closer adding to the excitement (or dread).  Then the alarm goes off on the "BIG" day and you wake up just like any other day.  The same person, nothing feels different.  If it wasn't for the wrinkles you see in the mirror you wouldn't know you were any older. It isn't until you mentally do the math in your head and realize that you're starting a new decade of your life.  60 is the new 30, right!?! We need to not dwell on the years that have past, we should look forward to the years ahead of us, all the new adventures to be had, people to meet, life left to experience. So let's not

Good Read

A week and a half ago, Tori and I went to Barnes & Nobles looking for a book that Tori wanted to read called, Tan Lines, but she didn't know the author. We stopped at the information desk to ask the lady where we might find it, since sometimes finding a book at Barnes & Noble is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Before we could get the name out, the ladies says, "I'll bet your looking for Stephanie Meyer's new book, Breaking Dawn". We said no and ask her about the book we were looking for. However she had peaked my curiosity. While Tori was following the clerk I decided to check out the Stephanie Meyer books. Breaking Dawn is the fourth of a series of books called the Twilight series. Tori said, "Yeah Mom, their making a movie that is coming out in December". Apparently I have my head in the sand because I had never heard of it. About now you are probably laughing at me.
