Sticks & Stones......

......Will break my bones...........as will mean girls on the soccer field............as Tori learned on Saturday. Here we were having such a great weekend. Graduation party on Friday night. It was so great seeing friends an family. Check out all the pictures on http://mitzpicz.shutterfly.com/. Went out to have breakfast at Rocco's with Toni, Gerry and Keri Saturday morning. Was all excited to play in our soccer game. Dana and Alex came to the game and everything. Started the game, I had two really close shot on goal. But about 15 minutes into the first half, Tori went up against a girl and won the ball but the girl threw her arm and sent Tori airborne. She came down on her right side and slide into the wall. Somewhere in all this she broke her left wrist. So we spend the rest of Saturday night at the hospital...... Some fun.......




Took these pictures with my phone. We had to get the IV. Getting the IV put in was probably the most tramatic part of the whole event.
See the big lump on the wrist. The purple wrap is where they shot the block medicine in.

Welcome to the deep end...

...this is the message I got on Monday as I jumped in. Monday was my birthday, another milestone day.  One that I have been dreading for weeks.  Not sure why this one is so hard to swallow.   For weeks I have been feeling like the crocodile from Peter Pan...Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock.  The days just tick away. Birthday's are interesting, there is a build up as the day gets closer adding to the excitement (or dread).  Then the alarm goes off on the "BIG" day and you wake up just like any other day.  The same person, nothing feels different.  If it wasn't for the wrinkles you see in the mirror you wouldn't know you were any older. It isn't until you mentally do the math in your head and realize that you're starting a new decade of your life.  60 is the new 30, right!?! We need to not dwell on the years that have past, we should look forward to the years ahead of us, all the new adventures to be had, people to meet, life left to experience. So let's not

Good Read

A week and a half ago, Tori and I went to Barnes & Nobles looking for a book that Tori wanted to read called, Tan Lines, but she didn't know the author. We stopped at the information desk to ask the lady where we might find it, since sometimes finding a book at Barnes & Noble is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Before we could get the name out, the ladies says, "I'll bet your looking for Stephanie Meyer's new book, Breaking Dawn". We said no and ask her about the book we were looking for. However she had peaked my curiosity. While Tori was following the clerk I decided to check out the Stephanie Meyer books. Breaking Dawn is the fourth of a series of books called the Twilight series. Tori said, "Yeah Mom, their making a movie that is coming out in December". Apparently I have my head in the sand because I had never heard of it. About now you are probably laughing at me.
