Timpanogos Cave

Image
Last weekend we went to Utah for a family reunion.  Some of us stayed over until Monday to hike up to Timpanogos Caves.    Here we are getting ready to start. Starting up the trail….I was a pretty steep climb.  The hike is 1.5 miles and you climb 1175 ft.  You are at 6875 ft when you get to the caves.   Here is Ryan and Shawna as we wait for our tour time.  They assign you tour times when you purchase you tickets at the bottom, they you have an hour and 1/2 to climb the mountain. This is our tour guide, she was very entertaining.  You can see Steve and Shawna. This is what they call the “Heart of Timpanogos”.  It’s very large, you can’t get your arms around it.  I think it does look a lot like a heart.   Some of the passages were very narrow. This is a view of the Valley from outside of the caves.  As you can see we were very high.  Beautiful!!!!!  I took tons of pi...

Girls Weekend

Image
Spend the weekend in Sun Valley with the ladies..... Amy, Laurie, Betti, Diane and Linda. All but Diane were Soccer Mom's. Laurie has a house is Sun Valley and does these ladies weekends every so often. This is the first that I've been able to go. Left Boise Friday afternoon, got there about 7:00, we had dinner reservations at Sobe's at 8:00. This picture was taken at the restaurant. (not my best picture but when do I take a good picture?!). After dinner we went out to a few bars to do some pool playing and dancing. Had a good time watching the interactions of other people. Saturday, we full of hiking, swimming and just hanging out. We decided to eat in, and Linda made this absolutely wonderful Cobb Salad. After dinner we watched "Heartbreakers", funny movie. 4 out the ladies decided to go out at 11:00pm but I didn't feel like going out again. As it was they weren't gone more than an hour. They said it was dead. Sunday morning we had a leisu...

30 years of Wedded bliss…..

Image
……is what we are celebrating today. I must say they haven’t all been roses and caviar. Actually I don’t think we’ve ever had any caviar, oh well maybe that’s yet to come in our ‘golden years’. We have had some amazing times, unforgettable times (both good and bad), we have two amazing, beautiful children and hopefully at least another 30 years together. Love you with ALL my heart my amazing husband, Dana. These are pictures of pictures from my scrapbook, so they aren’t the clearest pictures. Love you all ~~ Mitzi

4th of July (actually the 3rd) ~~

Image
View Full Album We decide to party two days, the 3rd and the 4th.  On Saturday, we met a Ryan and Terri’s house, then invaded the pool at Columbia Village.  It was a little cool for some of us adults (me) to get in the water but the kids had a blast. Cayton and Ayden had fun with the goggles and snorkel.  Deacon thoroughly enjoyed himself in the floatation device.  Bentley, well, she took a head dive under the water to start with and so it took her a while to warm up, but eventually she had a as much fun as everyone else.  Steve rode him bike down to the pool to meet us.  The rest of us adults just enjoyed the sun and watching the kids.  We eventually dragged the kids out of the pool and went back to Ryan’s to BBQ.  While the food was cooking, the kids jumped on the trampoline.  We had some delicious salads, bbq chicken, hamburger and hot dogs.  Yummmmmm, good food.  After eating some of started a game of Mexican train....

Irresistible…….

Friday I made this beautiful chocolate strawberry cake to take to the BBQ on Saturday.  Doesn’t it look delish? Dana thought so too………..   However, this is all that he has eaten so far, so it sits in the fridge calling my name and testing my restraint  every time I open the door. Love you all ~~ Mitzi

Morning walk

Image
Went for my morning walk today, but decided instead of the extra long route to stay on this side of the river (south side). Down between the river and the houses they build at Bown Crossing is a overflow pond from the river. This was put in to prevent flooding when the river is too high. Came across this beautiful swan swimming in the pond. All I had was my phone, so it's not the best picture. I'll have to go back with my big camera. Turns out there were actually 6 of them. Aren't they beautiful!?! Happy 4th! Love you all ~~Mitzi

Great evening

The movie was great, going to the midnight show, not so much. If it wasn't for the rude, seat saving, screaming girls (everytime they showed Jacob without his shirt), it would have been perfect. Seriously, I really enjoyed the movies and had a very pleasant evening with Tori and a couple of her friends. Love you all ~~Mitzi
